IT’S TIME FOR A NEW NARRATIVE

Are you a local government official, a business owner, a politician, or do you work for an NGO?
Do you feel that your ambitious environmental initiatives are not understood by your employees, residents, or customers? Do phrases like “climate change,” “ecological,” or “transformation” have the same effect on your audience as a red rag to a bull? After all, people don’t want to give up their fireplaces, travel by public transport, or eat less meat just because it’s better for the planet.

Why? There are several reasons, and one of the most important is communication. We — as societies, as people — can create powerful brands, but we still haven’t managed to communicate convincingly about climate change. This is one of the key findings from the latest edition of the “Humans Attack!” project.

That’s why we are engaging dozens of experts and using innovative research and workshop techniques to provide you with communication guides entitled “Język w Gębie” (“Tongue Untied”) by the end of the year — for ambitious people who want to make meaningful changes. For anyone interested. And, thanks to our patrons, completely free of charge.

The Earth is silent

The latest edition of the “Humans Attack!” project (2024) clearly showed that Poles are turning away from the problem of the climate catastrophe.
“The state of the Earth is serious and requires immediate action” — 63% of respondents agreed with this statement, compared to 78% in the record-breaking year of 2020.

The number of people in the “Don’t Wait” segment — those who understand the relationship between humans and the environment and are ready to change their behaviour and support pro-environmental actions by companies, local governments, and politicians — has also fallen by more than half. Over the past five years, the level of knowledge about the environment and climate has remained unchanged.

Although we are pleased with the success of “Humans Attack!” (almost 8,000 reports downloaded and several million people reached through media publications), we are less pleased with the survey results. As a society, we have put on mental armour and are simply trying to enjoy life.

In 2025, we will not only build on the achievements of marketing but also bring together experts in the social sciences with those from the worlds of science, the humanities, the arts, and creative industries. As a result of this carefully planned process, we are creating a practical communication guide for everyone who implements and communicates changes in the interest of our relationship with nature — for local governments, companies, NGOs, and politicians.

There will be no long treatises — the guide is designed to be concise, informative, practical, and written in clear, accessible language. The goal is to make it understandable and useful for anyone who wishes to represent the interests of the Earth in its relationship with humanity.

How did we manage to do it?

These guides would not have been possible without the substantive and financial support of many wonderful companies and institutions. It is thanks to you, our dear patrons, that the knowledge and recommendations we have gathered can be made available free of charge to everyone who wishes to implement bold and environmentally responsible decisions.

See for yourselves why our patrons decided to support this project:

“We are changing Warsaw — creating new green areas, developing public transport, and improving air quality. We want these changes to respond to people’s needs. We support the ‘Humans Attack!’ project because we believe that dialogue with residents is the foundation of any action for the environment and climate.”
– Magdalena Młochowska, Coordinating Director for Green Warsaw (the project operates under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Warsaw).

“How can we ensure that truly valuable content about the state of our planet stands out in the jungle of communication? At IKEA, we believe that meaningful communication is the first step towards effective action — that’s why we support the ‘Humans Attack! – Tongue Untied’ project.”
– Wiktoria Ogonowska, Sustainability Leader at IKEA (exclusive main patron of the guide for employers).

“At ORLEN, we’re working on a transparent narrative around a key element of our 2035 strategy: a rational energy transition that benefits the national economy. That’s why we are eager to share the energy of tomorrow with the people of Earth. Today.” – Mateusz Witczyński, Spokesperson for ORLEN S.A. (main patron of the transport guide).

“At Danone, we believe that human health and the health of our planet are inextricably linked. But how can we communicate these connections in a way that is both understandable and inspiring? We believe that innovative initiatives such as ‘Humans Attack – Tongue Untied’, which have the power to change everyday choices, are the key.” – Martyna Węgrzyn, Head of External Communications, Danone Group (main patron of the food guide).

“We support companies and organisations in the energy transition because we know that it is the key to their continued development,” said Agnieszka Durlej, Director of the Strategy and Development Office at Bank Pekao S.A. (main patron of the guide in the field of energy).

“Communication about the environment often resembles a maze full of dead ends, misinformation, and greenwashing. That’s why we’ve joined forces with InPost to work with ‘Humans Attack!’ to find the path toward green solutions,” said Kamila Solon-Serek, Head of Strategy and Sustainable Development at InPost Group (main patron of the transport guide).

Thank you for your support 💚 Thanks to you, these guides will be useful to thousands of companies, local governments, NGOs, and politicians.
